Gareth joined AdvanceLaw after 15 years developing, executing and advising on enterprise risk management (ERM) and compliance and ethics. Gareth most recently served as Director, Enterprise Risk and Compliance at EQT Corporation, the largest natural gas producer in the United States, where he oversaw ERM, compliance and ethics, PII compliance and data governance. In addition to his core responsibilities, Gareth also provided transactional and project management support for large M&A transactions and various corporate-wide initiatives.
Prior to this, Gareth built a commercially successful advisory and research service for heads of ERM and chief risk officers at CEB (now Gartner). He was responsible for leading all product development and service delivery for blue-chip clients and has advised clients on all stages of ERM implementation, including risk governance, risk identification and assessment and reporting. He also led discrete activities such as scenario planning, emerging risk tracking and competitor analysis. Together with Firoz Dattu, he helped launch and manage CEB’s flagship service offering for Audit Committees and has extensive experience working with boards of directors.
Gareth began his career in international development and focused on socio-economic effects of landmines and unexploded ordinance in post-conflict societies. Gareth received his M.A. in International Studies from Stellenbosch University in South Africa.
